Endorsement forms

Find here application forms for endorsements that allow licence holders to possess restricted firearms and items for approved purposes, including collecting, mementos and heirlooms, animal and biosecurity control, broadcaster and theatrical activities, and pistol target shooting.

The forms in this page contain references to terminology and provisions that have changed under the Arms Act 2026. As we progressively update all forms, they remain available for use. They will be processed under the provisions of the new legislation.

Bona fide collector

Use this form to apply for an endorsement to possess pistols, restricted weapons, restricted firearms and restricted magazines as a bona fide collector.

Broadcaster, theatrical, living history, and theatrical armourer

Use this form to apply for an endorsement to possess pistols, restricted weapons, restricted firearms and restricted magazines for the purposes of film or theatre productions as a broadcaster, theatrical, living history, and theatrical armourer.

Pistol target shooting

Use the first form to apply for an endorsement to possess pistols for target pistol shooting.

Clubs should use the second form to support an individual’s application to possess pistols for target pistol shooting.

Firearms Registry requirements

If you’re applying for or reapplying for a firearms licence or endorsement, you must register all items in your possession within 30 days of submission, including any items for which you hold a permit.
